What exactly does it mean to see 20/20 or 20/15?
The first number represents how far away the eye chart is placed. The standard is 20 feet. The mirrors on the wall at the office reflect the chart so that when looked at it is being seen as if 20 feet away. The second number is how well you see. The lowest line on the chart tells us how well you are seeing. For example if you can read the 20/10 line your vision in twice as sharp as someone who has 20/20 vision.
The big E at the top of the chart it 20/200. If you can't read smaller then that with your best perscription on you are deemed legally blind.
Stop by our office so you can have better than perfect vision!!!
